In the US, a person is considered a "legal" adult at the age of 18. By the age of 21, they hold all rights and abilities of an adult. Suffrage in the US is 18. There are a few states that the age of adult hood is different. I know that in Missouri it's 17, and in Alabama and Nebraska it's 19. But, are there anymore differences?

The age of adulthood, also known as the age of majority, is 18 years old in most states in the US. However, some states have set the age at 19 or 21 for specific purposes like drinking alcohol or gambling. It's important to note that the age of adulthood can vary depending on the context and legal rights involved.

No, they cannot. The key here is the age of majority (adulthood) in your state or country. If they are an adult, the parents are no longer responsible. That is usually the age of 18, but could be as high as 21. Check the majority age for your legal jurisdiction.
