Chevrolet Cobalt LS's are turned for 87 octane, so use 87 Octane, if 87 is unavailable due to elevation or location, go higher, octane is only anti-knock rating, and produces single digit horsepower gain in an untuned car. Don't waste the money, get 87 or 89 if that's all available
Of the Chevy vehicles, the Cobalt XFE has by far the best fuel economy. According to www.chevrolet.com, the Cobalt XFE's highway gas mileage is 37 mpg. don*t know
My 2005 Chevy Cobalt has a 13.1 gallon tank.
The Cobalt replaced the cavalier, a compact. The Aveo, is a sub-compact, and has better numbers.
use's regular 87 octane which can be bought at any gas station and you can use 93 octane also.

The Chevy Cobalt Coupe will hold five passengers. The backseats of this car are not easily accessible but it does have a large trunk. The gas mileage of the Chevy Cobalt Coupe is a great selling point.
A new Chevy cobalt are very nice cars. But, they are extremely expensive. They are aroundd 30 thousand dollars and they aren't that good on gas. My friend owns one, and says they aren't as they advertised it. I suggest you do not get a Chevy cobalt!
