"Huh-huh-huh-huh...rawk" is the call of the California Red-legged Frog (Rana draytonii).
Specifically, the voice of the California Red-legged Frog follows a series of 4-7 chucks with a growling scraping. The call may be heard for 1-2 weeks, day and night, at anytime between December and April, especially after heavy rains. But it is easy to miss such weak calls since they usually are made from underwater and because the males have such small paired vocal sacs.
Frogs call their young tadpolls.
