In all the official definitions of the Catholic Church, the word "inspiration" is always defined in relation to Sacred Scripture, in the back of the Catechism, there is a Glossary which lists:

Biblical Inspiration: The gift of the Holy Spirit which assisted a human author to write a biblical book so that is has God as its author and teaches faithfully, without error, the saving truth that God has willed to be consigned to us (105).

It means that the people who wrote The Bible were inspired to write by God. God inspired what is written in the Bible. This means that really, the author of the Bible is God.
