Dot 5
If the can says DOT 3 , Dot 4 or DOT 5, it is suitable.- Brand name does not matter.
It shares the reservoir with the brakes so it will be brake fluid to DOT 4 or DOT 5. If you don't have the owner's handbook contact Ford for the original type used. Be very specific about asking the DOT number. DOT 4 and DOT 5 do not mix.
Anything but DOT 5...DOT 3 is what was in it at the factory, DOT 4 is better and Synthetic Brake Fluid is also good. DOT 5 is Silicone Brake Fluid; it was invented for the Army and they're the only ones who should use it.

A 2000 Jeep Wrangler would use Dot 3 brake fluid. Dot 4 is also acceptable. Just do not use Dot 5, it is not compatible.
