a cob is still a horse, it is just another sizing, there are ponies, hacks, Galloway's. cob is mainly used for sizing of bridles, halters, saddle cloths, bell boots, open front boots, splint boots, etc.

∙ 12y agoThese are two different types of horses, Cobs are short and more rounded and heavier built. Typically used as family horses, hunters, and for overweight riders. They are built to carry heavier weights. A hack type horse is typically a Thoroughbred, Anglo-Arabian, or pony cross that is very refined and well mannered. They are typically seen in the show ring and are sometimes ridden sidesaddle by women.
