The Eyre Highway forms part of Australia's National Highway 1/A1. The Eyre Highway is that portion which links Western Australia and South Australia, 1668 km from Port Augusta to Norseman. It is particularly unique because it goes through the distinctive Nullarbor Plain and the edge of the Great Victoria Desert, and at times overlooks the majestic but remote and barren limestone cliffs of the Great Australian Bight.

The Eyre Highway is named after explorer Edward John Eyre who was the first to make the gruelling overland trek from east (Streaky Bay and the Eyre Peninsula) to Albany in the west.
