People who believe in Masonic conspiracies generally will tell you something like this:

The Freemasons are just another name for the Illuminati or elite, moneyed ruling group of family financiers and world bankers that actually run the world behind a veil of corruption and secrecy. It should be noted that the lower degrees of Freemasonry are kept completely in the dark as to the goals and schemes of the upper masons. It is only the very elite that have true understanding. What is known about this group is that is is a religious cult, their god of choice is named Lucifer. Yes, the same Lucifer from The Bible. We now know him as Satan. They of course deny this and have for centuries but it does not change the fact that it is true. The goal of all Illuminati and higher-up Freemasons is a one-world government that they of course control completely. In addition to this, they will, with the help of the Pope, combine all world religions together under the guise of 'spiritial enlightenment' which is their Luciferian religion. If all this sounds like a bad movie it is not surprising. There is of course no evidence for any part of this proposterous story, notwithstanding that there are millions of Masons around the world. The conspiracy theorists say that there is no evidence for their conspiracy theory because almost nobody knows the truth and it has all been successfully covered up by someone. But the truth is that they are mentally ill people who have allowed their fears of a worldwide conspiracy make them believe in such a conspiracy in the face of overwhelming evidence that there is no such thing. And in fact every single statement in their fantasy story is false.
