The Gold Cadillac is about a father named Wilbert buying a gold Cadillac without permission from his wife.So the mother always refused to ride in the Cadillac. As a result Wilbert decides to go to Mississippi which is in the South where they had slavery.The whole family was present then.On their way to Mississippi there was a heavy traffic/so they got pulled over by 2 policemen but they accused the father(Wilbert) of stealing the car so he had to go to jail.He then paid the ticket. After that Lois (Wilbert's daughter) sees signs on restaurants drinking fountains and a lot of different places so she asked her dad ''what do those signs Salyut means we cant drink in water fountains or sleep in motels or eat in restaurant's. ''why '' ''because they were African American. So they went back to Memphis and Wilbert gets his fathers ford. So he drives to Mississippi sees his family,then he goes back home,after selling the Gold Cadillac.
