If it is a 5 speed, depending on how your exhaust is you can get anywhere from 35-45mpg. I had a free flow, straight header exhaust and was getting roughly 50mpg if not more.
YES, it will fit all right, what changes is the engine to turbo to non turbo but all the bolt and guides will fit perfectly
yes. it has the L28e or L28et. It will fit in any of the Z's. If it's turbo and the other tranny and rear end you have are for a non-turbo then you need the turbo tranny and rear end
Yes. For the most part all 1979-1983 280zx transmissions are pretty much the same, manual to manual and auto to auto. The turbo transmission from 81-83 however is a Borg Warner T-5 style toploader. Something tells me through experience is that they will bolt up to a non turbo motor, but the driveshafts and rear end will need to be changed. Also, be aware that the older Z's from 70-78 will bolt up, but the driveshafts would definitely need to be swapped, especially if you are putting a 4 speed into it for whatever reason.
MASS AIR FLOW CENSER FAULTY
30-37 PSI if it is non-turbo
I do have purchased my 82 280zx Non-Turbo and would like to get all the hoses on the engine completely new. I do have some areas where the hoses are missing or have been caped. I would like to know the exact locations on where they should go. I thank you ahead for your answers. Eman
if its 2.5 non turbo diesel its around 33 to the gallon on a run or 28 in town
I've swapped from 79-82 non-turbo w/o issue. Obviously turbo won't work on N/A cause it has 2 sep connectors instead of one.
No overdrive but the non turbo 4cyl had a lock out torque converter that usually kicks in at about 46-48 mph. Gave an extra 2+mpg. Not available on turbo cars.
I have an IDI non turbo 7.3 1990, F350 4wd , auto, with a very heavy (1,700lbs?) utility bed. At 65 mph I get 14.5 mpg.
the best way would be to buy a "ghunson" tool and watch for a blue with a hint of orange flame through the window. i used it to tune my 240 and my 280. if you do not have access to the tool read your plugs. you want a evenly dispersed slight brownish color. why would you adjust it. did someone mess with the fact. settings?
