Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that very few people will go to hell, and that it is reserved for only the most wicked: typically only those who have denied God the Father and Jesus Christ even when they knew them personally. This denial has been compared to "looking at the sun and telling it that it does not shine".

Hell is typically called "Outer Darkness", and is the final destination of the soul after Jesus Christ has performed the final judgement. It is the place where Satan and his followers dwell in filth and misery, constantly reminded of their own guilt.

Occassionally, Mormons also refer to a place called 'Spirit Prison' as hell. This is a place where the unrighteous go to await judgement, but it is not permanent. They believe that many of those in 'Spirit Prison' will eventually accept Jesus Christ in the afterlife and also be admitted into heaven.

Do Baptists believe the Mormons are going to Hell?

There will be Mormons, Jews, baptists & Muslims in hell. I don't believe that anyone practicing faith sincerely will go to hell. Just as there are many languages, i believe god speaks to different people in different ways and grants them different experiences with him.

Creationism is a political as well as religious movement that has its own agenda. Mormons are not Creationists in that sense. Mormons do believe that the earth and all things on it were created by Jesus Christ, but do not subscribe to the strict interpretation by some that it happened in 7 days (168 hours).

Hand carts (with all of their belongings) were pulled across the west in the mid 1880's by mormons heading for utah and the promise land. I have always wondered if the phrase "Going to hell in a hand cart" Was related to this historic event. Anyone have other thoughts on this.
