OEM is a generic term that means Original Equipment Manufacturer. This would be everything on the vehicle when its brand new. Parts come from many manufacturers but all original parts are approved by Jeep. If you were to put on any after-market part such as shocks, wheels, etc. that Jeep does not approve "officially" then you've installed a non OEM part. Many after-market parts are of better quality than OEM so the designation is not a reflection of quality but of originality.
