The sound "pt-zeee" is the distinctive call of the Little Grass Frog (Pseudacris ocularis).

Specifically, the Little Grass Frog's call is the highest pitched of all North American frog voices. It is pitched at about 5-6 kHz. The insect-like chirp is made at the rate of about one per second. There is a very brief introductory note that may be missed by the listener and that is followed by the distinct trill mentioned above.

A chorus of Little Grass Frogs sounds like a field of crickets.

"Cut-cut-cut-cut" is the call of the Mink Frog (Rana septentrionalis, Lithobates septentrionalis).

Specifically, the voice of the Mink Frog is similar to the sound made when two sticks are struck together. The sharp raps are made in series of fours. The call is heard between late May and August, just before dawn and especially on warm midsummer nights.

A snore of about 2 seconds is the call of the Pickerel Frog (Rana palustris, Lithobates palustris).

Specifically, the voice of the Pickerel Frog is similar to the softly grating call of the Northern Leopard Frog (R. pipiens). But it also may include throaty garblings and a staccato "guck" that is like the call of the Green Frog (R. calmitans). The call of the Pickerel Frog tends to be heard in early spring. But it may be heard during the warm days of Southern springs and as late as June in the northern United States of America.
