Most people select Pikmin 2 as the clearly better game, simply because it adds a two-player mode, a challenge mode, and a very intense and thorough story mode that you can accomplish at your own leisure.

No, there is no way to link the two games.
Is pikmin2 2player on story mode?
Not that i know of. However, when you get all classic colors, red, blue and yellow, the 2player challenge mode will be unlocked. However, there is three playable characters,Olimar, Luie and the president of Hocotate. There is 2 characters on the board at once. Near the end of the game, you will be able to play as the president of hocotate.So, no, there can't be 2 humans playing in story mode. There can only be 1 person, and a computer that follows you and helps you pick pikmin.
