The Qin Dynasty, which ruled China from 221 to 206 BCE, did not have an official state religion. Instead, it practiced Legalism as its governing philosophy, emphasizing strict laws and centralized control. While various forms of traditional Chinese spiritual practices, including ancestor worship and folk religion, were present, the Qin Dynasty focused more on political unity and control rather than promoting a specific religious system. After the fall of the Qin, Confucianism began to gain prominence in Chinese society.
Qin Shi Huang Ti was the introducer of The 'Tao' as a religion. He was the prophet of this religion. The 'Tao te ching' is the revised memory the holy book of this religion. The title 'Lao Tzu' and the title 'Huang di' bears the same meaning. The substance of the religion named 'Tao' stood in it's time in the same line with 'Tawheed' i.e. 'Pantheism' of the modern Islam. The Tao was the previous edition of Islam. The evil effort from Cofuciusists and the Han authority has corrupted the smooth and straight running of the history.
