There were only 1500 of these made in 12,16 and 20 gauge models. They were exactly the same gun as a model 1200 except the stock and fore grip were made of hardwood. There have been several articles written about the value of these shotguns some say they are worth $1800 to $2000 in new condition. However the most I have ever seen one sell for is $695.00 in a 12 gauge version. Most of them have sold lately between $250 and $350 on gun auction sites.
The Winchester 140 12 gauge has a choke barrel at 28". This is the same choke size as the 20 gauge model.
