This depends on which country you live in. Different countries have different laws.
In the countries I am familiar with (in Europe) there is no minimum age.
In the UK, some of the larger knifes are not available because they exceed the maximum allowable length. This includes the knife the Swiss Army actually uses, the "Soldatenmesser 08", which you can buy in Switzerland.

18 even for a Swiss army knife but while almost all other states knife laws are nearly 2 pages ,loisianas knife law is a simple as thing with exception of jack knifes and switch blades or spring blades, a 3 year old can walk through town with a sword.(excludes federal law).
