The actual air exchange takes place in the alveoli of the lungs
Gaseous exchange is the movement of oxygen in the body, it takes place in the lungs through diffusion by the alveolar surface. There are millions of alveloi in the lungs, which gives it around 70m2 of exchange surface.
Capillaries
The lungs contain air sacs called alveoli which are surrounded by blood capillaries to allow gaseous exchange.
they are tiny air sacs in the lungs that allow the exchange between oxygen and carbon dioxide.
They allow gaseous exchange between the inhaled oxygen and the exhaled carbon dioxide.
Exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide in the alveoli of the lung, then transfer it to the heart
Gas exchange between the body and the environment occurs in the lungs.
To allow for gas exchange, i.e. oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Oxygen in the lungs and passes through the alveoli, small sacs which allow gas exchange, and enters the blood to be pumped throughout the body.
In the lungs, exchange of gases occurs in the alveoli(sing: alveolus).
The tiny air sacs of the lungs were oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged are the alveoli.
