This is not the same temperature as the flash point (as read elsewhere on this web site). Flash point of gasoline is negative 45 degrees Fahrenheit, where vapors form fast enough to not be diluted by the air so that the fuel to air ratio is high enough that an alternate source of very high heat (like a spark) can ignite the vapors momentarily, thus removing the vapors from the considered area, and the fire extinguishes. Thus, a flash is seen, hence the term flash point.
The fire point is the temperatue where vapors form fast enough to sustain a combustible fuel/air mixture.
Ignition point is the temperature of the aforementioned alternate source of high heat, such as a spark, that ignites the a mixture of air and fuel or oxidizer and fuel. I've read elsewhere the ignition point of gasoline and oxygen is 280 degrees Celcius (536 degrees Fahrenheit), and I came here looking for confirmation.

Gasoline does not ignite. The fumes from gasoline are what ignites. They will ignite at any temperature. According to the best sources I could find there are three answers (all apply to gas fumes as stated above). 1.) Flash point -43 F 2.) Ignition Temp -40 both of the above require an external source of ignition. Then ..... 3.) Auto Ignition Temp 246--280 °C (475--536 °F) Is the answer for what temp it will ignite on it's own without external 'spark'. I leaned heavily on Wikipedia for source material

Gasoline cars were turned on by a manual system. It was a technology of a rotating aparatus that had a lever that used the hands and arms of the operator in order to turn on the car. Tesla came out with the solution. The Tesla auto ignition patent 649621.
Nitrogen gas is not in itself flammable, and does not have an auto ignition temperature.
Hydrogen is very flammable to the point of being explosive under the right conditions. It must be kept away from any open flame, However Hydrogen is also less flammable than gasoline. A 'spark ignition ' engine is your regular gasoline engine as opposed to a diesel, which is a 'compression ignition' engine
Gasoline does not combust properly, or at all, in a compression ignition engine. Gasoline is designed to be ignited by a spark.
