North America is VAST VAST place spanning from the Canadian arctic down to the arid Mexican plains...there is no 'usual' temperature for North America.

There are tremendous variations in temperature both geographically, as you go from the cold arctic north to the warm semi-tropical south of the continent, and seasonally, going from the warm summer to the cold winter. If you were to add up all the temperatures from all parts of the continent at all times of the year, and get an average (which is more work than I am prepared to do) my guess is that it would be about 17 degrees Celsius.

It depends on which area of North America; and if you include Canada along with the United States, Mexico, and Central America, and the islands in that area apart of "North America" you are dealing with a region of 24,709,000 km2 (9,540,000sqmi).
