You should have a 1" axle front and rear.
The small front wheels allow the wheels to be turned in the alloted space. Additionally, the front axle is a dead axle - it does not drive the machine - so the need for traction and weight distribution on that axle is much less than it is for the live (rear) axle.

The hubs are not engaged. They need to be in order for the axle to be able to turn the front wheels.
It should be one inch.
You look underneath by the front wheels for an axle shaft.
some have set screws and some just press on.

no u cant swap the axles f150 has 15 inch wheels and different blot pattern f250 has 16 inch wheels u could swap entire axle and diff housing but you would then need to change out the hubs at front wheels as well or have different size wheels on front and rear
