There are no obvious benefits. The only benifit might be that it will help make it less greasy but if you have a good brand of shampoo there is no reason to use baking soda.

How do you use baking soda to get iron build up out of your hair?

Well, baking soda is what we used to put in our hair and brush out to remove oils--instead of doing a shampoo. Apply a half cup of baking soda and one cup warm water mixture to very wet hair. Work in like a shampoo. leave on a few minutes, rinse and shampoo. You might also try a clarifying shampoo or a chelating shampoo. You can get them at a beauty supply store or a salon.

Why is sodium chloride used in shampoo?

Sodium chloride is a natural salt, just as you can imagine over usage can strip the hair of oils leaving your hair dull and dry, much like sulfates. The benefit is more for the shampoo itself. It is used to help adjust the viscosity (thickness) of the shampoo. It helps the shampoo rinse out better and it softens the water you use to wash your hair.

How do you take hair grease off your hair?

To remove hair grease, you can try using a clarifying shampoo. Apply the shampoo to wet hair, lather it well, and rinse thoroughly. You may need to repeat this process several times to completely remove the grease from your hair. Additionally, using a vinegar rinse or applying a mixture of baking soda and water before shampooing may help in removing hair grease.
