There is no single answer to this question, because it largely would consist of consumer preference for the many available models currently in the market, that offer the latest cell technologies. Two examples include the apple i phone, and the blackberry.

The iphone 4 is already out in stores for $199. Includes a 5 megapixel camera, 720p video recording, FaceTime, and battery talktime lasts for about 10 hours. 3.5" SCREEN.
The htc inspire 4g came out february 13 for $99. Includes 8 mp camera, hd video recording (720p), live tv, gps, and battery talktime of up to 6 hours. 4.3" SCREEN.
Motorola Atrix coming out in beginning of March end of february for $199. Includes 5 mp camera, hd video recording, fingerprint scanner (instead of using a passcode), and battery life of about 9 hours. Can also get a really cool laptop dock, but way too overpriced ($500). 4" SCREEN.
Finally the Samsung Infuse 4g coming out sometime during 2nd quarter of 2011. Price unavailable. Includes 8 mp camera, hd recording, video chat, large
super amoled 4.5" screen, and unknown battery talktime.
I would probably suggest either the htc inspire (im getting) or the samsung infuse.
