if you need a rifle for all purposes, needs to be useful in all roles, is durable and dependalbe, lightweight, easy to use then nothing better than the AR-15 - its the civilian version of the M-16 - for vesatility i like the carbine version with shorter barrel and folding buttstock as its small and ultra light weight when set up correctly its very accurate, extrememly dependable and rugged, can be used to hunt any size game - the rounds for it are small and light weight and easy to reload - when taken care of it is highly rust resistant - it comes apart fast and easy, is easy to clean and parts are easy to replace lots of custom options and accessories are available - lots of sight and scope options are available and easy to change out in seconds - mine has special standard sights with a tip off scope mount that has 3 interchangeable scopes (optical red dot, 9x and a nightscope) - by doing my own reloading i can load any type of round needed and there are many ammo options for the 223 caliber that work in the AR-15 in an emergancy it takes about 15 to 30 minutes to hand make the parts to turn it full auto - but dont do it unless your life depends on it as its illegal
