best oil to use in 7.3 diesel is rotella brand oil
No, only a certain range(size) of turbo will work(efficiently) for a 1.6 diesel at the rpm range, boost throttle response you want. Link below is to one of the best turbo calculators, IMHO.
The best way to check your 1989 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 liter diesel engine turbo is with a diagnostic tester. The diagnostic tester can tell you several things about the functioning of the Turbo.
I think that the best diesel engine is the Cummin's turbo diesel engine because it has the most powerful and don't think its not because it has six cylinders it has the best acceleration and people use them in all sorts of big rigs and ram 2500s and 3500s.
So far, the 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8. But the old 7.3L PSD is running a tight race with the 05 to 07 6.0L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8s. They have been proven to be reliable. The only bad 6.0L PSDs were the 03.5 and 04s. Every Ford diesel made has had some good reliability. If you get an upgraded turbo on the 6.4L and a DPF Delete Kit you are good to go for a high mileage diesel. The 6.9L IDI Ford/International diesel was a great engine. Also, the 7.3L IDI Ford/International diesel engine. The 6.9L IDI and 7.3L IDI didn't have a turbo OR great power, but they were great engines. I am liking the new 2011 6.7L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8 that is in the new Super Duty trucks. It seems like it will be a very reliable and long-lasting high-mileage engine. There really isn't a "best" Ford diesel now days, but the early 6.0Ls and the 6.4Ls are definetly the pieces of sh*t in this round!
As both driveshafts will need to be removed, the best advise I can offer is to buy a Haynes manual and follow the comprehensive instructions in that.
Rotella 15-40 or Royal Purple 15w-40 for best mileage and performance
If your asking what vehicle or engine get the best mileage, it would have to be either a hybrid/4cyl. compact or a compact turbo diesel 4cyl./manual transmission. The diesel can actually get better economy is certain conditions than a hybrid/gas 4cyl.
The best way to find out the capacity of the radiator in a Peugeot 106 is to consult the owner's manual or contact a Peugeot dealership. They will be able to provide you with the correct information regarding the radiator's capacity.
Rebuild the turbo! Your oil contamination is most likely coming from a leak between your turbo's oiling and cooling passages. That's my best guess w/o looking at it.
Here's a few million mile pickup truck diesel engines - - - 7.3L IDI International (Ford), 6.9L IDI International (Ford), 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel (Ford), and the 5.9L Cummins I-6 engine (Dodge.) Of the newest diesel engines offered in the Big 3 trucks, I'd say #1 is the 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel, #2 6.6L Duramax, #3 6.7L Cummins.
Depends on the engine, on the XUD (1.9 non turbo) the most economical point to change gear is when the speed is 10mph less than the gear number (eg. change to 3rd at 20mph) but for better acceleration changing at the same value (3rd at 30 etc.) will get the car moving quicker. There's no "official" details on this, so the best way is to see what works for you.
