No, it is not required. I do however recommend a high mileage formula conventional oil or you can if you wish use synthetic.

Depends on your mileage really. A full synthetic oil is always best but, if your car is high mileage and has the annoying oil leak syndrome, you may want to go to any of the variety of oils that are sold as 'high mileage' oils. These are oils that are sold for vehicles in excess of 75,000 miles and contain a higher ash content to contain those annoying leaks. Check out Kmart or Walmart and your high mileage oils are clearly marked on the manufactures label...
Absolutely, that sounds like an excellent choice, if you are switching over from conventional oil be sure to flush it all out as best as you can.
depending on the mileage, a full synthetic or a synthetic blend is my recomendation. A conventional oil (standard) is good for 3000 miles. synthetic blend oil is good for about 4000 miles and a full synthetic is good for 5000 miles. If your tc is over 75000 miles then either a full sythetic or a high mileage oil is recomended. I bought my tc at 72000 miles and right away i ran an engine flush, tanny flush, coolant flush, fuel system cleaner and had a full synthetic oil change and the car runs brand new. Jiffy Lube Tech-
Any name brand 5w 30. It can he high mileage, synthetic, etc.
Use the exact weight that is listed in your owners manual and nothing else. It can be synthetic, conventional, or high mileage.
I recommend a high-mileage synthetic. 10w-30
What oil to use really depends on the year of the car if you are asking what viscosity rating to use (example 5W-30) some engines require different ratings. If you are asking whether you should use conventional, synthetic blend, full synthetic, or high-mileage, then that depends on the mileage you have put on your engine and your own preferences.
Valvoline Synthetic high mileage is what i use in my Expedition and F-150. Both over 100,000 miles.
