Depends on what species you are targeting. Live bait ranges from worms and crickets for sunfish like bluegills and small catfish. Minnows are good for bass and crappie.
Large catfish will hit small sunfish or shad, and striped bass will take shad or herring.
Bass and other species can be caught on a variety of artificial lures as well.
fish
use shrimp. cast nets in the shallow areas are good as well, you can pick up some permit-shaped fish or some fish that look like tuna. you can bait those and go to docks where good snook hang out. docks towards the gulf, not the bay.
Depends what you are fishing for. Shrimp for small fish like snapper. Live minnows for grouper and other fish. Chunks of other fish for shark and other large fish. Crabs also will work.
