You have a few options in all reality. If you use rubbing alcohol it will remove all traces but this would be a bit drying to the skin. Some toners will remove the residue, but Witch Hazel would remove it without altering the pH balance in your skin too much.
the same thing happened to me and i just used hot water ad a rag. no soap. try putting some alcohol-based perfume on it, let it dry and then scrub it off by using a clean piece of cloth. I've tried it to remove size sticker stain from my dockers and it works What really works the best is duct tape. Just dab it on the sticky stuff and whallah!! Goo is gone!!! You definitely DO NOT want to put any type of oily substance on clothing to get these stickers off. It will leave a stain. Same with some perfumes because they have oils in them.

3M Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 looks like the best, most durable duct tape. It is for indoor or outdoor use and has an added feature that most duct tapes do not have: it comes off clean, leaving no residue behind!
Duct tape will leave behind a sticky, gummy residue that embeds into the carpet fibers. To get rid of the residue, scrap as much as possible with a butter knife. Place a damp cloth on the spot and rub a warm iron on it. Use a goo remover on the remaining residue.
To repair a book ruined by duct tape, gently remove the duct tape by heating it with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Use a soft cloth to wipe away the residue. Repair any torn pages with archival tape or glue, and store the book in a cool, dry place to avoid further damage.
