If they are damaged by a covered cause then yes. I believe you are referring to damage caused by lack of maintenance and in that case they are not covered. It is specifically your responsibility to maintain the home and homeowners insurance is not designed to do this. If you have a fire or a tornado rips off your roof then the facia boards are covered along with other items damaged.

I hope that this helps Replace the wood that is exisiting, in order to create the previous appearance the material would basically loose some of its mass. Otherwise, remove the material from where ever or whatever it may be attached, fastened to then remove the existing finish and re create the process used to originally cut, plane and/or prepare the material. First figure out why the rafter rotted ! It also depends on the construction methods the builder used. Some framing methods use "outriggers " to attach the barge rafter. You can tell by the nail heads in the side of the rafter. If there are a series of nails equally spaced doing down the rake of the rafter , most likely it is nailed to outriggers. You will have a couple of nails then a few feet on down you will have a couple more nails. Newer homes usually don't have outriggers. Your barge rafter is nailed to your roof decking. So the decking actually holds it up. It will be nailed also to your ridge at the top and to the sub-facia on the bottom. The barge rafter also serves as the sub-facia. You will have to remove this in order to get to the barge rafter. Usually the facia is a cedar board.

I would check the facia board for nail heads. The rafters/trusses are 16" or 24" o.c. If you can find protruding nail heads in the facia and measure the distance between two of them, you can determine where the rest are.

Hi, I've recently replaced my stereo on the same model so I'm sure I can help. It is easier to remove the full front facia unit inc heater controls etc. Remove the glove box from the passenger side by applying gentle pressure to both sides as you pull down. This gives you access to the rear of the stereo. You will see a bracket attached the the back of the stereo with a bolt, this bolt is to prevent the front facia unit from being removed from the car (anti theft). Remove the bolt. Unclip the centre consoles (around handbrake, ash tray) this gives you access to two screws securing the bottom of the front facia unit which you need to remove. With the screws removed pull the front facia unit forward until you have enough room to unclip each wiring harness attached to the facia unit. Slide the front facia unit out and remove. You are now able to unscrew the stereo.
