Reduce caloric intake and increase caloric uptake.

Eat less and exercise more. The best way is start by cutting back on what you're eating. Eliminate most of the "empty calories" such as sweets, pop, and chips, but don't deny yourself those, just eat very little (such as 1-2 cookies a day). If you completely cut them out of your "diet" you will feel deprived and are more likely to "cheat" and eat a lot. Cut back your portions, but NEVER skip a meal. Eating several smaller meals will help curb your hunger throughout the day and eliminate "binge" eating. And you have to start some type of exercise routine. Start out slow by walking a little each day and work your way up. Make sure to take at least one day off a week so you don't feel overwhelmed.
