Here is a simple home remedy i have come across the last time i had pink eye. Its a mexican medicine called "Terramicina". How you used "Terramicina" is by taking a small amount of it onto your finger and rub it in the corners of your eyes...your eyesight may become blurry but it will sharpen when you go to wash it out...im not sure how long to keep it in but i guessed and left it in for 30 minutes each time i used it. Do this twice a day until your pink eye clears up. XD

Since it is an infection, the best way would be to go to the Doctor Who will likely prescribe antibiotic eye drops.

Do not spread it around:

  • don't pick at it.
  • wash your hands with soap everytime you touch your eye(s)
  • try to keep from passing the infection from one eye to another or to another person.

Pink eye is called conjunctivitis. There are several forms from viral, bacterial, chemical, and or mechanical. Most cases seen in the United States are the highly contagious form called "viral conjunctivitis". It is transferred via hand contact or contact with anything that came in contact with the discharge from the eye. Preventing it is a challenge and it spreads quickly and easily. Frequent hand washing not only for the patient but for all in contact with the person is necessary. Disposable tissues and not touching the other eye with the contaminated tissue or hand is paramount. Objects such a toys and door knobs need to be disinfected.

Is pink eye a contagious disease?

YES!!!! Viral and bacterial pinkeye are contagious and spread very easily. Since most pinkeye is caused by viruses for which there is usually no medical treatment, preventing its spread is important. Poor hand-washing is the main cause of the spread of pinkeye. Sharing an object, such as a washcloth or towel, with a person who has pinkeye can spread the infection. http://www.webmd.com/eye-health/tc/pinkeye-topic-overview
