Go to wal mart and buy a Fram Oil Filter Wrench......lol......i know it sounds dumb but that's the only way i got mine off
No, I have a 1998 Cavalier and it does not have a cabin filter. You can take off the 3 bolts off the heater blower and remove any leaves or debris.
you have to take the gas tank off to get to it and if you need to replace the fuel filter they have to be spechial orderd.
Replace the fuel filter, that is a good place to start.
You have to take off the air filter and the starter has like two bolts holdin it in
it is on top of the block you have to use a 1 inch wrench to get the black cap off
You use a 1 1/4"socket (preferably six-sided).
I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 L and for me the orifice filter for AC is located down to the left of the radiator on the front of the car. If you look where your high pressure valve is just below that and to the left a little you will see two aluminum pipes (one coming from the top one from the bottom) and where they meet is where the orifice filter is housed, it looks sort of like a small aluminum rectangle. Just take the nuts off the housing for it and there you have it.
On a 4cyl. Cavalier the fuel filter will be located towards the back of the car next to the rear tire on the passanger side of the car. Simply unscrew both sides of the fuel line and pop out the filter from the brace holding it. I use a pair of pressure pliers and an adjustable wrench.
drop the tranny fluid pan, remove 2 bolts that hold it on,pull off.
it is a hose on the engine, close to the brake fluid. screw the hose off, then you can pull PVC out.
pull the fuel lines off the filter and put a new one in it will be on the passenger side 3/4 of the way to the rear of the car
Yes there is, albeit minor. Main difference is the location of the oil filter. The Cavalier as an filter relocation adaptor, and the Luminas oil filter does not. There are other minor diferences, but the swap is very doable. The oil fitler adapter comes off the engine from the cavalier, and can be mounted to the Lumina motor, and the same goes for the other diferences.
