That has to be up to you. I personally told my best friends out right and let them deal with it. Most were cool with it. When it came to my family, I was a bit more scared to tell them, so I wrote my Mother, my brother and my two sisters letters and mailed them.
How and when you decide to tell your friends/family you are gay is totally up to you.

∙ 12y agoif you mean friends or at school or something what worked for me since i couldn't get myself to say it i passed notes in class but only do that with ones you know will accept you for the other ones meet them somewhere private then just tell more and more people until you are confident enough to completely come out of the closet
if you mean at a bar or something than first of all gay bars work great for that but other than that the best you can really do is ask guys out yourself instead of waiting for them to ask you
If you're talking about high school, then what worked for me was being fully accepting.
I am a branch of bisexual and I told my one closest friend, which eventually led me to telling my two other friends.
Eventually, when you tell the people you can trust, you become more confident in telling other people as well, so start smal and then grow.
