I saw these lights in November of 2009. It was about 5:00 A.M. and still dark outside. I wondered what they were. I got on my cell phone about a month later and started calling contacts in the City Hall of Amarillo. After several calls, I got someone who knew the answer. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, this is the Wilderado Wind Farm/ Wilderado Wind Ranch. It is located about 25 miles west of Amarillo on 16,000 acres. There are approximately 500 wind turbines there.
