High Idle speed can happen due to few reason. Normal Idle speed should be 800-850 RPM. First check the air hoses for any leaks. Clean the Idle control valve. Then check the throttle position sensor under the throttle body. Check the accelerator cable cable and stop position (do not try to change the original stop position). I hope these will help.
Answersometimes a vacuum leak can cause the idle to be a little higher then normal . .. other symptoms of this are a decrease in over all proformance . . .to check it, try clamping down on each vac line that you can see with vice grips, use a lighter setting on the plyers and use a piece of rubber so you don't damage the rubber vac hoses

No, that has nothing to do with idle speed.
An engine usually has a higher idle speed when the ac is running. If the high speed idle does not operate then the ac will cause the engine to stall.
Idle speed is not adjustable. It is controlled by the engine copmuter. If your idle speed is too high or low you have a problem with a sensor or the idle air controll actuator. Also, a weak battery can cause the idle too be erratic
a vacuum leak can cause high idle
Idle speed too high.
No, on a fuel injected engine it can cause high idle speed.
A faulty camshaft can cause your 1991 Nissan Maxima to idle erratically. A diagnostic test could verify the cause of the improper idling speed.
the engine runs at a faster rate than when the idle speed is lower.
Idle is computer controlled and can NOT be adjusted.
You don't. The ECU controls the ISC (Idle Speed Control Motor) which adjusts the idle. If idle is out of control (too low or too high) try gently tapping the ISC with a small (0.5 pound) hammer or a large wrench while the engine is running. If tapping the ISC makes a change in idle speed, you need a new ISC. Clean the throttle body whenever replacing the ISC. If the ISC is not the problem, look for vacuum leaks which can cause both high and low idle. Low coolant level can cause high idle. Also, note that many clueless drivers assume that the idle is wrong (high) when the car is just using high idle (normally) for a short time after a cold start especially in cold weather.
change the TPS Throttle Position Sensor
You can adjust the idle.
