Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus, their genetic material is free in the cytoplasm as they do not have a need for compartmentalisation like more complex Eukaryotic cells that carry out more internal chemical mechanisms.

Some Eukaryotic cells do not have a nucleus though, for example a red blood cell ejects its nucleus when mature as it no longer has a need for it and it needs as much room as possible for storing oxygen.

Prokaryotes are not "the cell" that term refers to a quite large collection of cells among which are the bacteria and bluegreen algae. The cell without a nucleus is, as I had previously written before my answer was vandalized: The mammalian red blood cell. otherwise known as enucleated erythrocyte.

Besides, Prokaryotic is an adjective, not the name of a cell.

The vast majority of cells don't have nuclei.

The domains eubacteria and archaebacteria do not have a nucleus. Their DNA is contained within a circular chromosome which is capable of transcription in the same manner as chromosomal transcription in a nucleus.

A eukaryote (like us) has its DNA in the nucleus. If it lacked a nucleus, it would also lack its DNA. Thus, it wouldn't be able to code for any proteins and thus would unable to grow, reproduce, or respond to the environment.

The red blood cell is the only vertebrate cell with no nucleus. Because they have no genetic material, they cannot regenerate by mitosis, but must be produced by stem cell tissue in bone marrow.
