i am not quite sure of the exact details, but it was when long ago in Britain, some charity workers fooled parents and mentors/ dorm matrons that their children were being sent off the Australia for a better opportunity of living. They brainwashed people into thinking that their it was better for their children. With trust, the parents sent their little ones off with the charity workers to Australia. Instead of having a better opportunity, the children were dropped off on farms to work as slaves. They were beaten, tortured and raped. You do not hear about this alot for obvious reasons. Mainly because it was a moment of embarrassment for the british governments due to their lack of care andc security. I hope this helped a bit :D
The child migration scheme was a program in the mid-20th century, primarily in the UK and Australia, where children were sent from orphanages or impoverished families to former colonies for a "better life." Many of these children faced hardship, abuse, and disconnection from their families and homelands, leading to a scandal in later years as the true impact of the scheme came to light.
