POTATOES and YOUR MOM
your gonna have to remove trans. and replace the 5 th gear cluster.
There is no 5th gear overdrive, only 4th gear
Your top gear or last gear you shift to. Depending on what make and model of your bike, either 4th or 5th on motocross bikes and for woods bikes it would be 5th or 6th.
The grrr noise you hear should be more like a whiring, this is because the reverse gear is a straight cut gear, while all the other gears are helical ( 1st ,2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th) when two straight cut gears meet there is more noise present due to the way the gears connect, as the reverse gear uses several small gears to change a clockwise motion into a anti-clockwise motion.
When it is in 4th and 5th gear it sounds like its about to break down.[not that it is going to break down!!]
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th & Reverse gear
There is no drive in a standard transmission car. In most cases you will have reverse, neutral, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, 4th gear, and 5th gear.
It's the overdrive engage button, which is like a 5th gear. It only engages when the gear lever is in 4th gear and it can be operated without depressing the clutch.
1st gear down 2nd gear up 3rd up 4th up 5th up N between first and 2nd gear
sycronizer probably going out since that gear is primary when gearing down from 5th
