There is none. So far, there is no real proof that there even are any aliens. Someone in the universe has to be first and there is no reason to think it isn't us. Crop circles are acts of vandalism, usually performed by college kids. Anyone who tramples a farmer's crop should have to work in the fields for a few months.

We did indeed send messages to space-- that one will get where it's going in 13,000 years! Clearly, the pranksters are having a field day, no pun intended. After all, why would aliens spell out gibberish in wheat when they could knock on the door of the radiotelescope which is right there?
They could have seen are wars violence and gotten scared I mean we kill other humans all the time why wouldn't humans kill them for testing alone if not out of our own fear for the unknown.
In which case the smart thing to do would be to avoid us entirely, not spell out gibberish in wheat.
