There are different types of bay , like dark bay, light bay, silver bay, etc. Actually, brown and bay are similar but different colors. Bay has dark points (black mane, tail, legs, nose and sometimes ears) Brown does not, and may have a copper colored nose. They both have a brown coat though, and are often confused.
it depends what it parents looked like if they had a dorsal stripe then the foal will ---- most likeley have one It is possible, but if they do, it will be very slight. It will never be as primitive as those on dun horses. It is not overly common.
Bay and brown are very hard to distinguish as they can often look exactly alike, but there are subtle differences. Often brown horses will have lighter brown or cinnamon colored nose and flanks and will often look very dark, almost black in the winter but these cinnamon colored points will show through. Many people mistakenly think they have a black horse when really it is brown. Browns just like bays have black points (legs, mane and tail.) Bay comes in many shades, but nobody completely understands the different shades and how they are inherited.
just bay- darker is blood bay or even black with bay tips
Bay is a brown horse with a black mane and tail. You can have different variations (i.e. a dark bay horse would be darker brown with a black mane and tail).
A brown color that ranges from a redish brown (blood bay) to an almost black (dark bay) with black points (mane, tail, nose, sometimes the tips of ears, and the lower legs)
its body is dark brown. with a black main and tail and points (round eyes, nose, legs and tips of ears etc)
A bay horse is brown in colour with a black mane and tail
A 'white' horse with a black mane and tail would really be a grey horse that has not finished going completely white coated. A grey horse no matter the shade of it's body hair will always have grey skin, while a truly white horse will have pink skin.
sorrel- a horse with a redish brown coat color. NO BLACK AT ALL. there can be white leg and face markings bay- a horse with a reddish brown coal with a black main, tail, and stripe down the back
A mare is any female horse over the age of four years old. Dam is a term used for a 'mother' horse, or a mare who has a foal at her side. As an example sentence for the words dam and mare; ' Those two bay geldings came from the same dam, that brown mare over there in the corner next to the grey pony.'
Clydesdales are most commonly bay (brown with a black mane and tail, some have black legs) But also can be chestnut or black.
Bay is just a colour that a horse can be, I have a bay thouroughbred but I also have a bay welsh-cob
Colt has no matter. A chestnut horse, has a chestnut colored body with the same colored mane. A bay horse, Has darker brown (bay) body with generally a black mane.
A chesnut is a light brown color horse and a palomino is a yellow or golden color horse, and a bay is a dark color horse.
It depends what you mean by "brown." A bay horse can come in just normal bay or dark bay. As obvious in the name, dark bay is the really dark brown, and bay is lighter, but over all chestnut is the lightest colour of brown. So, without confusing you (more than you probably already are :-P) you can tell the difference by how light the horse is. If the brown is really light then it is clearly a chestnut. If you search on Google Images, "Bay horse", "Dark bay horse" and "chestnut horse" you will be able to see how the different colours vary. But over all, try to remember that really light- Chestnut, Darker- Bay and really dark- Dark bay. Sorry if I confused you but I hope I helped =)
A brown horse that is nearly black is either referred to as a dark bay or a brown horse.
The horse was Bay.

it is a horse when you get horses with brown bodies and black mane and tails then that horse is therefore bay so it would be the breed of horse which is "cob" so it is a cob that has a brown body and a black mane and tail.
