since an op-amp has very high open loop gain, the potential difference b/w its inputs tend to zero when a feedback n/w is implemented.to acheive a reasonable voltage at the output and thus equilibrium in the system,the output supplies the inverting input with enough voltage.the inverting input although not connected to ground,will assume a similar potential ,becoming a VIRTUAL GROUND...

In case of Operational Amplifier,the voltage gain is very high. So by AV=Vo/Vi we can conclude that Vi is very small quantity. Approximately we can take Vi=0. So potential difference between input terminals becomes zero.And in most of the cases we consider a terminal grounded.So potential of other terminal also becomes zero. This is called Virtual Ground Concept.
It is not actually removed.. AS i surfed randomly.. the point they stressed is all methods in java are virtual by default.. Hence there is not explicit virtual concept.. They are virtual cos tey check for the object refrence only dynamicaly.. i.e dynamic lookup.. a
Ordinary is when you can physically stand on this said ground. Virtual ground occurs when the ground is virtually the same between two disagreeing parties. EX: I like cake and you like cake. That is virtual ground in an argument. Whereas, a disagreement would be an atheist going to Church. However that's a paradox...
An op amp must remain in its active region for virtual ground to be preserved.

The main parameter responsible for virtual ground of an Op-Amp is Input Impedance . Generally , for an Op-Amp it is very high . So , we can conclude that the characteristics of an Op-Amp responsible for virtual ground is high input impedance .
If no current flows between two points. ONE point is grounded then other point is said to be virtually grounded. THIS is called principle of virtual ground.
Feedback resistance is used to feed back the current obtained at output back into the circuit. Thus a virtual ground concept is developed.this is majorly used in applications of OPAMP[IC 741].
