The Northern Mariana Islands is really not a part of any continent. However, on a very large scale it is part of Oceania, which is a collection of islands (and Australia) covering much of the Pacific Ocean.

The Northern Marianas consist of the entire Mariana Islands archipelago except Guam. The Marianas are part of Micronesia, which is a collection of island groups located in the western Pacific Ocean, north of the equator. Micronesia is one of the three ethnological sub regions among the islands of Oceania.
