If it is a light brown/tan color, it is water in the oil. You must change it immediately and find the cause. Likely a head gasket or intake manifold gasket.
If it is thick and black, it is sludge buildup. The best way to safely clean the engine is to use a "high mileage" oil such as Mobil Clean 5000 and change the oil every 2k miles for three or four times and it will begin to clean up. To prevent it, avoid idling, short trips of less than 5 miles and regular oil changes according to you owners manual. If you are doing a lot of idling and short trips, change the oil every 3k miles and use 1 pint of Marvel Mystery Oil in place of 1 pint of oil at each change.
DO NOT use ANY other oil additives, ever. NEVER EVER use "motor flush" of any kind, ever.
you have a blown head gasket . you have ran the car way to hot , and now you have water mixed in with the oil....
headgasket blown.also sometimes a creamy residue on oil filler cap which is a tel tel sign

Open filler cap, add oil, replace filler cap...
There is usually a cap on one of the valve covers. There is an oil filler cap, you are just overlooking it. Look closer.
It is in the back side of the oil filler housing. Look just behind the oil filler cap.It is in the back side of the oil filler housing. Look just behind the oil filler cap.
That would be moisture in the oil.
try taking off the oil filler cap at the top of the engine...on my '95 turbo 900s that's where it was, the oil stick was attached to the oil filler cap.
connected to the oil filler cap
