If you mean the yellow light in the shape of a looped line, it has two meanings.
On a diesel, it means the glowplugs are on to pre-heat the combustion chambers for cold starting. It also flashes if the ECU detects a fault somewhere in the fuel system - then the ECU goes into "limp home" mode - the engine still runs, but with reduced power.
If you have the flashing light, you'll need to have the car checked with a diagnostic computer - independent specialists will be cheaper than a dealer, and an Autodiagnos MT Pro unit will do the trick - many code readers will fail on pre-2004 diesels, for example, as the cars are not fully ODB-compliant...
