What is the definition of outside sales?
The definition of outside sales is the salesperson going outside the company to recruit clients and provide customer service. They develop a pipeline from outside the company.
: (1) formulation of sales strategy through development of account management policies, sales force compensation policies, sales revenue forecasts, and sales plan, (2) implementation of sales strategy through selecting, training, motivating, and supporting the sales force, setting sales revenue targets, and (3) sales force management through development and implementation of salesperformance, monitoring, and evaluation methods, and analysis of associated behavioral patterns and costs.
Typically sales tax is paid at the point of sale, hence the name. But depending on the state there are exceptions. If you buy goods from outside the state, and do not pay sales tax (internet sales!), you need to remit sales tax to your state. Most of the state income tax forms have a method provided for paying sales tax along with the state income tax.
