Tuberculosis is a disease caused by an extremely small gram negative bacterium. It usually resides in your lungs. It makes you cough. Then it starts making you feel weak. It is easily spread. If you catch it, it will gradually make you weaker and weaker. After several years, you die. It is easy to cure. However, the cure takes a number of months. A patient feels better almost as soon as the treatment starts. The bacteria is still there. It has stopped making so much poison. The patient thinks that because the poison is gone, the disease is gone. That is wrong. The disease is not gone until the last bacterium is dead. All of the bacteria have to be killed. It takes an X-Ray to show all of the bacteria are dead. Then the patient can stop the medicine. If the patient refuses to cooperate, then the health department throws the patient into a ward until the disease is gone.
