Light Weapons Infantryman
1950 ~ 1953
Edwardian era or World War 1
The Civil War Era? Never. I think you mean the cold war era. That would be the Cuban missle crisis in October 1962.
Era of good feelings
'61-'75.
1950 ~ 1953
Note: Korean War ERA is different than Korean War; Vietnam ERA is different than Vietnam War. You will see figures stating that 6 million (or more) US Military personnel served in Korea and 7 million men (or more) served in Vietnam; those figures are for the "Era" (the time period), not the actual war! 1. Less than 1 million US military servicemen fought in the Korean War. 2. 2,594,000 US military servicemen fought in the Vietnam War (served in country). 3,403,100 US servicemen served in South Vietnam and SEA (Southeast Asia; Thailand, etc.) total. 3. US forces served in all Persian Gulf conflicts after Vietnam, and suffered casualties in all of them; which one are you referring to?: A. Iran-Iraq War 1980-1988 B. Operation Desert Storm Jan/Feb 1991 C. Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003
All of the Cold War Era (1945-1980ish) U.S.A. believed in the "Containment of Communism" American wished to stop Communism and preserve Democracy. Korea is known as a "Police Action" and not a war.

Late Edwardian era, the First World War era, and the Inter-war era.
Do you mean, "Why was the era AFTER world war 2 called the cold war?" Because no one calls the era of WW2 the cold war.
Best answer...watch either the film (movie) or TV series MASH. MASH, although written by a Korean War vet & originally about the Korean War; was scripted by Hollywood screen-writers during the Vietnam War and was "really" about the Vietnam War. All actors reporting for filming (reporting for work) in Southern California knew they were playing Vietnam & not Korea. Besides, the way Hawk-eye, and the other doctors acted in MASH...uniforms, hair cut styles...etc. would not have been tolerated in 1950-53 (Korean War). But they certainly were in Vietnam (the hippie era).
Reconstruction Era
To prevent Russia (then Soviet Union) and China's influence in the pacific region. If Korean peninsula would have fallen to either Russia or China, they would have been in a very good strategic position to control the pacific region (see the world map and see where Korean peninsula is located). During the cold war era, U.S. could not take the chance of losing the control over the pacific region.
The politics of the era was Communism verses the Free World (Cold War). Individual freedom verses society control/safety. The Cold War was NOT A WAR which involved shooting and killing. The Cold War was a "stand off." Each side just waiting for an excuse to press the atomic button.
Edwardian era or World War 1
The Reconstruction Era occurred right after the civil war. So the civil war caused the reconstruction era to begin.
