Begin by removing the cover from your rear speakers. Remove the rear speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker. The rear speakers will come out.
The 2002 for standard dashboard speaker will measure 3.5 and is in diameter. The rear speakers will measure four inches by six inches. The front door speaker will measure three inches by five inches.
i believe all sunfire door speakers are 5 1/4" but with a mounting bracket, it can accommodate a 6 1/2" speaker, depending on the mounting depth.

Did the old radio have any sound? Do you get a strange code on the radio display indicating that you are locked out? You might have to pull the radio back out and make sure that the speaker connection plug is plugged in securely.
