The main difference between a 1960 Impala and a BelAir is the level of stainless steel trim on the car. The Impala had more glitz and usually had more accessories, like Power Steering, power brakes, etc. Also, all 2 door Impalas were hardtops (no post) while 2 door BelAirs could be either hardtops or sedans. Impalas were at the top of trim level. BelAirs came-in second and Biscaynes were at the bottom of the trim level.

BelAirs also had no courtesy lights according to my local guru they were stripped down cars that really moved the racers of the day loved them. Because the had the same engine but less weight.
