Diving knives are made from highly stain resistant alloys, e.g. H1, X15TN, titanium alloys, etc. Regular knives can use either stain resistant or plain carbon steel.

Special stainless(stain resistant) steels used in dive knives resist corrosion very well, but the downside is reduced edge holding ability compared to carbon steel or conventional stainless steels.

Also, diving knives very often have rounded or no sharp tip to avoid accidental piercing of the suit or other underwater equipment.

What is the difference between regular diving and synchronized diving?

The difference between "regular" diving and synchronized diving is the scoring and the athletes. In "regular" diving one diver goes at a time and that one diver is scored based on that one dive. In synchronized diving, TWO people do the SAME DIVE at the SAME TIME to try and be as accurate and identical to each other as possible. The two athletes are then given ONE score for both dives based on their precision and timing.

What is a blunt-tip dive knife?

Many dive knives have blunt (squared-off) tips. This makes them safer. You're not likely to need a sharp-tipped knife underwater. You're more likely to just need the cutting edge. Sharp tipped knives tent to snap off and break when prying at things. The blunted tip is more practical as you never need to stab anything but you often need to pry things underwater. A sharp knife is what you need for cutting line and old netting etc.

The butterfly is most likely the hardest for most people because it requires you to keep and move your feet in a whale-like manner while lifting your arms in and out of the water. Meanwhile, the breaststroke only requires you to move your feet up, out, and together and your arms to move like you are searching for something. But a simularity is that both strokes have the same turn
